Kanye West’s planned European performances continue facing major setbacks after Italian authorities reportedly blocked upcoming festival appearances involving both Kanye and Travis Scott.
According to reports, officials in Italy canceled the scheduled performances at RCF Arena in Reggio Emilia due to public safety and security concerns.
The shows were originally planned as part of the Pulse of Gaia Festival, with Travis Scott expected to perform on July 17 and Kanye West scheduled for July 18 at the massive venue, which holds more than 100,000 attendees.
Italian authorities reportedly cited concerns about public order, potential demonstrations and logistical issues related to hosting two large-scale back-to-back events.
The decision was made following a meeting led by local officials and public safety authorities on May 25.
The latest cancellation adds to a growing list of reported disruptions surrounding Kanye West’s international performances in recent months.
Previous reports indicated that planned events in countries including the United Kingdom, Poland, Switzerland, France and India also faced cancellations, postponements or restrictions connected to security concerns and public controversy.
Several advocacy groups and local organizations in Italy had also reportedly expressed opposition to the planned concerts before the final decision was announced.
Neither Kanye West nor Travis Scott have publicly addressed the latest cancellation at this time.
Festival organizers are now expected to restructure parts of the event lineup while fans continue awaiting updates regarding tickets and possible refunds.
