Singer-songwriter D4vd has reportedly been transferred to the same Los Angeles jail housing accused killer Nick Reiner as prosecutors prepare to move forward with a high-profile murder case that could carry the death penalty.
According to jail records reviewed by multiple outlets, D4vd — whose legal name is David Anthony Burke — was moved to Twin Towers Correctional Facility on April 22. The 21-year-old artist is currently being held without bail ahead of a preliminary hearing connected to the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas.
Los Angeles prosecutors allege Burke is connected to the teen’s murder and plan to pursue several major felony charges, including first-degree murder with special circumstances, murder for financial gain, murder of a witness, lewd acts involving a child under 14, and mutilation of human remains.
Authorities claim Celeste Rivas was killed in April 2025 before her remains were allegedly discovered months later inside Burke’s Tesla in the Hollywood Hills. Prosecutors further allege the teen may have been connected to a separate investigation involving alleged sexual misconduct.
Burke has denied all allegations against him.
His attorneys released a statement insisting the musician was not responsible for the teenager’s death and vowed the evidence would clear his name once presented in court.
The transfer gained additional attention because Burke is now being housed in the same facility as Nick Reiner, who is also awaiting trial in a separate murder case involving the deaths of his parents. Reiner faces multiple murder charges connected to the fatal stabbings.
Due to the special-circumstances allegations attached to Burke’s case, prosecutors could ultimately seek either life in prison without parole or the death penalty if he is convicted.
The District Attorney’s Office has not yet announced whether capital punishment will officially be pursued.
The case has already sparked widespread online discussion due to Burke’s rising music career and the disturbing nature of the accusations. His upcoming hearings are expected to draw major public and media attention as prosecutors continue building their case.
