Matthew Fox and Kurt Russell are teaming up again on The Madison.
Fox reunites with his Bone Tomahawk costar for the drama series, telling PEOPLE about their connection at The Madison premiere in New York City on Monday, March 9.
The actor, 59, says he and Russell, 74, grabbed dinner before the show went into production and it “felt like no time had passed” between them. Still, Fox says he grew closer to Russell because they play brothers Paul and Preston Clyburn on the Paramount+ series.

The Madison follows the Clyburn family as they move from New York City to the Madison River valley of central Montana.
The series is the latest from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, who is also behind Marshals and Dutton Ranch.
According to Paramount+, The Madison is “a profound love story channeled through a deeply personal family drama about resilience and transformation.” The story of the Clyburn family will be told “across two distinct worlds — the beautiful landscape of Montana and the vibrant energy of Manhattan — as it examines the ties that bind families together.”
Along with Fox and Russell, The Madison stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Will Arnett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence and Danielle Vasinova.

Fox recalls the moment the script came across his desk, explaining the “quality of the writing” made him eager to be a part of Sheridan’s story.
“After an initial conversation with Taylor about the series and about the part, I asked if I could read the scripts. And he sent them over, and I read them, and they were beautiful,” he said. “I’m always material-driven. And at a certain point of the process, it just feels like it’s inevitable, and that’s how it happened that way on this.”
During the New York premiere, Sheridan gave a rare speech in which he introduced his latest project and thanked the cast and crew for their dedication to making his story come to life.
“I can’t stand these things,” he joked. “So for me to be at one means I’m really proud of the project, which I am.”
“I don’t make anything. I write things down and then I bring together a cast and a crew and I ask them to go make it,” he said. “And trucking cameras across rivers and up mountains. So I have a chance here to do what I don’t get to do often, which is call them out and thank them personally for their sacrifice and their commitment.”
The Madison premieres Saturday, March 14, on Paramount+ with three episodes. The following three will premiere March 21.
