William and Kate Host Garden Party at Palace
Prince William and Princess Kate represented King Charles III at a garden party at Buckingham Palace on May 8th, to honor frontline workers across the UK.

In her latest appearance, Kate chose a white polka-dot dress by Self-Portrait, paired with a matching black and white hat and cream-colored high heels. The highlight of the outfit was a pair of Bahrain Pearl Drop earrings that once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II, along with a three-layered pearl bracelet by Nigel Milne, a favorite of Princess Diana.

These are all familiar pieces of jewelry in Kate’s collection, believed to be a tribute to her and her late mother-in-law. The Princess of Wales has repeatedly worn designs associated with Diana, from her famous sapphire engagement ring to the Lover’s Knot tiara, a favorite of the late Princess.
Meanwhile, William appeared dapper in traditional formal attire including a tailcoat, blue waistcoat, red tie, and top hat.
The party, held on the grounds of Buckingham Palace with approximately 8,000 guests, was held to honor frontline workers, volunteers, rescue workers, and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the British community.

Members of the royal family spent time chatting, shaking hands, and posing for photos with guests on the palace lawn.
According to the British royal family, each party serves around 27,000 cups of tea, 20,000 sandwiches, and 20,000 portions of cake to attendees.
William embraced and kissed Rhian Mannings, the founder of 2wish, an organization that supports bereaved families, after experiencing the tragedy of losing both her son and husband.

The Royal Garden Party is a tradition dating back to the 1860s and is still maintained as an occasion for the monarch to recognize contributions to society. Each year, around 30,000 people are invited to parties held in London and Scotland. The event took place just days before Princess Kate’s trip to Italy in mid-May. This will be her first overseas trip since announcing her cancer diagnosis in 2024.
