In a surprising turn of events, Mackenzie Shirilla, known for her involvement in a tragic incident dubbed “Hell on Wheels,” has landed a new role within the Ohio prison where she is serving a life sentence. At just 21 years old, Shirilla is now reportedly working in the kitchen, preparing meals for fellow inmates.
Prison officials at the Ohio Reformatory for Women confirmed this development to Fox News Digital, although details about her specific duties remain scarce. Typically, inmate kitchen workers are responsible for cooking and serving food, and Shirilla likely underwent a health screening to ensure she poses no risk of spreading contagious diseases, in line with state regulations.
While her new job may not be glamorous, it comes with its own set of challenges. According to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections, Shirilla will be required to wear a hair net while serving meals, a stark contrast to her previous life. Inmates typically earn between $3 to $22 a month for their work, but sources suggest Shirilla has found alternative ways to supplement her income.

Mary Katherine Crowder, a former inmate who spent time with Shirilla, claims that she has been receiving financial support from online sugar daddies, who reportedly help fund her makeup and clothing needs. Additionally, Crowder mentioned that Shirilla’s parents consistently send her money, ensuring she remains comfortable behind bars.

Shirilla is currently serving a life sentence for a tragic incident in 2022, where she intentionally drove into a building, resulting in the deaths of her boyfriend, Dominic Russo, 20, and friend, Davion Flanagan, 19. Friends and acquaintances have painted a picture of Shirilla as self-centered and spoiled, with no prior work experience mentioned before her incarceration.

Just days ago, in a 𝓵𝓮𝓪𝓴𝓮𝓭 phone call obtained by TMZ, Shirilla expressed her boredom with prison life, stating, “there is nothing for me to do.” Crowder described her as someone who sought status among inmates, quickly earning a “mean girl” reputation. “She always had her makeup done and her clothes tailored to fit her,” Crowder recalled.
Shirilla was sentenced to life in prison in August 2023, and her case has gained renewed attention following the release of the Netflix documentary “The Crash.” Although she faces a long road ahead, she will be eligible for parole in October 2037. What does the future hold for Mackenzie Shirilla as she navigates life behind bars?
