Jana Duggar is preparing for a brand-new chapter — this time as a first-time mom.
The former 19 Kids and Counting star has revealed that she and her husband, Stephen Wissmann, are expecting their first child together, with their “little bundle of joy” due to arrive in January 2026.
Jana, 35, shared the exciting announcement on Instagram, posting a series of photos with Stephen as she showed off her growing baby bump.
“We are so excited, January 2026 is going to come with a little bundle of joy joining our family!” she wrote. “We’re counting down the days and eagerly looking forward to this thrilling new chapter in our lives!”
The pregnancy news comes roughly a year after Jana made another major change in her life: leaving the Duggar family home in Arkansas following her marriage to Stephen.
Jana and Stephen tied the knot in August 2024 in Arkansas in front of around 500 guests. Several of Jana’s sisters were part of the wedding party as the longtime reality-TV family gathered to celebrate the couple.
Not long afterward, the newlyweds revealed that they had moved to Nebraska, where Stephen already owned a home that the couple planned to transform into their own space.
The property, purchased for approximately $275,000, was a far cry from the large Duggar family home that viewers became familiar with during the family’s years on television.
Jana began documenting the renovation on her YouTube channel, giving fans a look inside the dated property and sharing the couple’s plans for turning it into a comfortable home.
The approximately 2,152-square-foot ranch-style house in northwest Lincoln featured bedrooms on both floors, a basement, a recreation room, multiple living areas, a fenced yard, a storage shed and a two-car garage.
Rather than simply moving in, Jana and Stephen took on an extensive renovation project.
One of their first major plans was to combine two bedrooms on the main floor to create a larger primary suite, complete with its own bathroom.
The kitchen also underwent a major transformation. The couple gutted much of the existing space and temporarily created a makeshift cooking area elsewhere in the house while construction was underway.
Jana previously explained that much of the renovation would be handled by the couple themselves, with assistance from family and friends when needed.
“I’m so excited to show you all this space and share with you our renovation plans,” she said in one of her YouTube videos. “I cannot wait to see this project come together in real life.”
Even after moving away from Arkansas, Jana continued to rely on her family for help with the ambitious project.
Her renovation videos showed her taking on hands-on tasks, including cutting and sanding pieces of wood to create custom shelving. At one point, she discovered that she had measured a piece incorrectly and had to cut it down again.
“As the saying goes, ‘Measure twice, cut once,’” she joked.
The couple also worked on installing a ventilation system in the kitchen and assembling furniture throughout the house.
By Jana’s most recent renovation update, posted in April, much of the major construction appeared to be finished, with only smaller design and finishing touches remaining.
The completed areas reflected a neutral, understated style, with light tones throughout the living spaces and marble-style accents in the kitchen.
For Jana, however, the renovation represented more than simply updating an old house.
She previously described the process of creating a home with Stephen as particularly meaningful because it would become the place where they built their life together.
“Putting in a whole new kitchen has definitely been a huge undertaking,” she said. “Especially since we’ve been doing so much of the work ourselves, with the help of family and friends.”
Despite the hard work, she said watching everything come together was rewarding.
“I imagine it’ll be so much more meaningful to use the space in the years to come, remembering all the hard work and elbow grease we put into making this space what it is,” she added.
Now, that newly renovated home is preparing to welcome its newest resident.
Jana’s pregnancy marks another significant milestone for the eldest Duggar daughter, who spent much of her adult life closely involved with her large family before eventually marrying and establishing a home of her own.
With the baby expected in January 2026, Jana and Stephen now have an entirely new reason to put the finishing touches on the Nebraska house — a place that is about to become their first family home.
