Joseph Duggar and his wife, Kendra, have reached an arrangement that could result in their Arkansas criminal charges being dismissed next year.
Court records show the couple entered pleas in Elm Springs District Court on Monday, allowing their cases involving child endangerment and false imprisonment to be placed under advisement for one year.
The order, submitted by their attorney Travis Story, requires both Joseph and Kendra to avoid any new criminal offenses, maintain good behavior, comply with court orders and directions from the Arkansas Department of Human Services, and pay $1,850 in fines and court costs before the one-year period ends.
If they satisfy all of the conditions, the charges will be dismissed.
A review hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 4, 2027.
Joseph, 31, and Kendra, 28, each faced four misdemeanor counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment. The couple had previously pleaded not guilty.
Because the allegations involve minors, authorities have released few details about the Arkansas case.
The diversion agreement, however, does not resolve a separate criminal case Joseph is facing in Florida.
Joseph has pleaded not guilty to charges of lewd and lascivious conduct involving a person 18 or older and lewd and lascivious molestation involving a child younger than 12. The latter charge is classified as a life felony under Florida law.
According to investigators, the Florida case stems from allegations involving a family vacation in Panama City Beach in 2020. The alleged victim told forensic interviewers that she was under 10 at the time and accused Joseph of repeatedly touching her inappropriately during the trip.
Authorities say the investigation began after the victim’s father confronted Joseph. According to an affidavit, Joseph allegedly acknowledged the accusations during conversations with law enforcement.
Joseph is currently free on a $600,000 bond. His next Florida hearing is scheduled for Sept. 15 at 9 a.m.
While the Arkansas charges could ultimately disappear if Joseph and Kendra comply with the court’s conditions, Joseph’s separate Florida case remains active.
