F1 fans, get ready for a major void this weekend—Ted Kravitz and his beloved Notebook won’t be at the Dutch Grand Prix. The iconic pit-lane reporter is taking a break, leaving viewers wondering when they’ll get their next dose of exclusive paddock insight.
Sky Sports F1’s Ted’s Notebook has become a race-weekend ritual for millions, blending technical breakdowns with behind-the-scenes stories. But with the calendar growing more punishing, even legends like Kravitz need time off.
This time around, the Notebook is missing from Zandvoort entirely. While Bernie Collins has stepped in for pit-lane reporting duties, she won’t be hosting the Notebook show—much to the disappointment of loyal fans.
Kravitz himself confirmed the reason during his last Notebook at the Hungarian Grand Prix. He revealed he’s currently in the Lake District with Sky colleague Simon Lazenby, enjoying some time on Ullswater Lake.
“We will see you for the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of August,” Kravitz said on air. “I’ll still be on my outbound course with Simon Lazenby on Ullswater Lake, so I won’t be there. So I will return with the notebook at the Italian Grand Prix.”
That means the next episode of Ted’s Notebook will air during the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, scheduled for September 4-6. Fans won’t have to wait long, but the gap still stings.
For those unfamiliar, the Notebook started as a written column on ITV Sport, then evolved into a video series when Kravitz moved to BBC Sport in 2009. When he joined Sky Sports F1 in 2012, it became a live 30-minute show that quickly turned into essential viewing.
Kravitz’s gift for explaining complex F1 rules with humor and clarity has made the Notebook a must-watch for both new and longtime fans. His absence this weekend leaves a noticeable hole in the coverage.
