A Florida murder case is taking a dark turn as prosecutors prepare to introduce evidence of alleged Satanic interests in the trial of a woman accused of a gruesome 2016 killing. Katelyn Goble, 30, faces charges including malice murder and tampering with evidence in the death of 19-year-old Morgan Bauer.
The case remained unsolved until 2023, when Goble reportedly approached investigators with information about a murder. According to court documents, she initially tried to pin the crime solely on her ex-boyfriend, Jonathan Warren, but authorities claim she was equally involved.
Warren has already pleaded guilty and received a life sentence without parole. He told investigators that Goble was fascinated with the occult and forensic pathology, allegedly suggesting that her desire to cut up a body was the motive behind Bauer’s killing.
Prosecutors say Goble’s social media activity will be a key part of their case, including a post on the night of the murder that read, “This is Bob. Bob kills people.” They successfully argued to introduce this evidence over defense objections.
Goble’s defense has argued she was manipulated by Warren, but they confirmed Friday they will not pursue a battered person syndrome or insanity defense. Both sides agreed to redact mentions of Warren’s past and Goble’s 𝒹𝓇𝓊𝑔 use from police interviews.
