Adrian Newey is back at it again, and Aston Martin fans might want to sit down for this one. The legendary designer is reportedly cooking up fresh aero upgrades for the Dutch Grand Prix, and the team is buzzing with renewed hope after a brutal start to the season.
The first half of 2026 was basically a nightmare for Aston Martin. They scraped together just one point in 11 races, struggling with both their car and their power unit. It was the kind of slump that makes you wonder if the season is already over.
But then came Hungary. Right before the summer break, the team dropped a major upgrade package that instantly made the AMR26 more competitive. Suddenly, there was light at the end of the tunnel, and fans started dreaming again.
Now, all eyes are on Zandvoort. According to reports from journalist Jorge Peiró, Aston Martin is bringing a couple of aero tweaks to the Dutch Grand Prix, specifically targeting the floor and front wing. These aren’t massive changes, but they build on what the team learned in Budapest.
And here is where it gets really interesting. Honda is also rolling out their new spec engine, which they maxed out using the ADUO development system. The Japanese manufacturer says this combo could create a “synergistic effect” that pushes Aston Martin into the midfield fight for points.
Honda confirmed the updated RA626H power unit delivers more punch through improvements to the internal combustion engine, battery, and other components. They are clearly all-in on making this partnership work.
