A new online video analysis has reignited controversy surrounding the 2021 killing of Drakeo the Ruler, with commentators claiming the footage places YG near the scene of the fatal backstage attack.
The analysis focuses on a witness description of a man allegedly wearing a black ski mask, a shiny black jacket, black pants with a red stripe, and dark shoes. The creator then compares that description with festival footage showing a similarly dressed figure.
Online viewers quickly began suggesting the person could be YG.
But the footage does not independently establish the man’s identity, nor does it prove that YG participated in the stabbing. No court has found him responsible, and authorities have not publicly announced charges against him in connection with Drakeo’s death.
Still, the renewed speculation has placed his previous denials under fresh scrutiny.
YG addressed the rumors in his song “We Know the Truth,” dismissing claims that he was involved and arguing that he would already be imprisoned if credible evidence existed. Critics now say the newly circulated footage raises questions about whether he was present, even if it does not show him committing a crime.
The broader online allegations go further.
YouTuber Poetik Flakko has publicly named Frank “Frankenstone” Williams as the person he believes carried out the stabbing. That claim remains unproven. Williams has not been convicted in Drakeo’s killing, and social media accusations are not the same as evidence presented in court.
Another figure linked online to the controversy, Munchie B, fueled speculation after saying on Clubhouse that he regularly socialized with the person who killed Drakeo. The statement did not identify a suspect in a legally verified way, but it intensified debate about whether people inside YG’s wider circle know more than they have publicly admitted.
No Jumper founder Adam22 has also said officers visited his studio while asking questions related to the case. YG was reportedly detained and questioned on a separate occasion before being released.
These developments have created the impression that investigators may still be examining multiple individuals and relationships surrounding the festival attack.
Yet the central mystery remains unsolved.
Was the matching outfit a meaningful clue—or simply an internet theory built from blurry footage and secondhand claims?
