Boosie Badazz Sued By Security Guard for Assault

A security guard is taking Boosie Badazz to court, claiming the rapper attacked him with a shattered glass hookah during a wild night at a Houston club.

Edward Iglehart II filed a lawsuit against the Louisiana-born artist, whose real name is Torrence Hatch Jr., over an incident he says went down on May 24 at the Dome Nightclub.

According to court documents, Iglehart was hired to work security in the VIP section during a Boosie performance. As the night was winding down, a woman who was allegedly with Boosie in VIP asked if she could use a restricted bathroom.

Iglehart claims he politely directed her to another guard who could make that call, but the woman reportedly started yelling at him and then hit him. He says he grabbed her to escort her out, and she fell. When he bent down to help her up, he alleges he was struck hard from behind.

The security guard says he looked up to find Boosie standing over him with a broken hookah. Bleeding heavily, Iglehart was rushed to the hospital, the lawsuit states.

Now Iglehart is suing for assault, battery, and defamation, claiming Boosie made false statements about him on social media. He is also going after the club’s owner, 1720 Main Street Entities, for allegedly over-serving Boosie and his crew, creating an unsafe environment.

TMZ previously reported Boosie was arrested in May over this alleged attack. The club’s owners and promoters told police the woman Iglehart was escorting out is Boosie’s niece.

Boosie’s attorney, Carl A. Moore, told us in a statement, “We plan to vigorously investigate and defend Mr. Hatch against these allegations — we wish everyone would reserve any judgement and allow this case to play out in court.”

He added Boosie was trying to “defend his female relative” and “deescalate the situation.”

So far, no reaction from Boosie himself on the civil suit. With a criminal case already pending, how will this legal double header play out for the rapper?
