Joseph Duggar is reportedly trying to regain unsupervised access to his four young children while awaiting trial on child molestation charges in Florida.
According to court reports, Joseph asked a judge to remove restrictions that currently require any contact with his children to be supervised. His attorney argued that none of Joseph’s biological children are alleged victims in the Florida case and that the court’s conditions have made it impossible for him to spend normal time with them.
The request was denied.
Joseph remains free on a $600,000 bond after pleading not guilty to charges of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12 and lewd and lascivious conduct by a person 18 or older. As part of his release conditions, he is prohibited from having unsupervised contact with minors, including his own children.
Meanwhile, his wife, Kendra Duggar, was previously reunited with their four children after an Arkansas judge lifted a separate no-contact order against her. She still faces unrelated Arkansas charges involving child endangerment and false imprisonment alongside Joseph.
Joseph’s current living arrangements have not been publicly confirmed, and it remains unclear how often he is able to see his children under the court-ordered supervision requirements.
The case has also drawn attention from cousin Amy Duggar, who revealed on The Sarah Fraser Show podcast that she spoke with Joseph’s alleged victim, now 14 years old.
Amy said she offered the girl encouragement and reassurance, telling her the experience “doesn’t have to destroy you” and that she would always have a safe person to talk to. She added that she hopes the teenager is able to find healing as the criminal case moves forward.
