The ongoing legal case against Joseph Duggar has not only divided the famous reality TV family but has also strengthened an unexpected bond between two of its members. Amy Duggar King recently revealed that she and cousin Jill Duggar Dillard have become much closer in the months following Joseph’s arrest, relying on one another for emotional support as the family faces yet another painful scandal.
During a YouTube interview, Amy shared that she and Jill have been exchanging messages almost constantly since Joseph was arrested in March. Their conversations often revolve around checking in on each other, offering encouragement, and reminding one another they are not facing the crisis alone. According to Amy, simple messages like “Are you doing OK?” and “I love you” have become a regular source of comfort during an incredibly difficult period.
Amy said their relationship was once friendly but fairly superficial, limited to family gatherings and casual conversations. The recent events, however, have pushed them to have deeper discussions about trust, emotional struggles, and the challenges they have both experienced within the Duggar family. She explained that they are learning to build genuine trust by supporting each other privately and respecting one another’s confidence.
Joseph was arrested in March on charges of lewd and lascivious conduct involving a minor in Florida and has pleaded not guilty. In a separate Arkansas case, both Joseph and his wife, Kendra Duggar, also face child endangerment and false imprisonment charges, with each maintaining their innocence. As the legal proceedings continue, Amy says the difficult circumstances have unexpectedly brought her and Jill closer than ever, creating a stronger family bond amid one of the Duggar family’s most challenging chapters.
