Kendra Duggar’s Family Breaks Silence, Says They Stand With Joseph Duggar’s Alleged Victim

Kendra Duggar’s family has publicly addressed the criminal allegations against her husband, Joseph Duggar, saying they are devastated by the accusations and expressing unwavering support for the girl at the center of the case.

 

In a statement released to the media, Kendra’s parents, Paul and Christina Caldwell, said they were “troubled and heartbroken” by the allegations involving their son-in-law. They described the alleged victim as a courageous young girl who showed remarkable strength by coming forward and sharing her story despite the challenges she could face.

The family said their primary concern remains the well-being of the alleged victim, adding that they are proud of her for speaking out while maintaining her identity and resilience throughout the ordeal. They also reaffirmed their support for victims of abuse and emphasized the importance of allowing the legal process to move forward.

At the same time, the Caldwells acknowledged the impact the case has had on Kendra and her four children. They said they continue praying for their daughter and grandchildren, recognizing that the ongoing legal proceedings have been deeply traumatic for everyone involved.

Joseph Duggar was arrested in March after Florida authorities accused him of sexually abusing a girl during a family vacation in Panama City Beach in 2020, when she was nine years old. Investigators allege he repeatedly encouraged the child to sit on his lap and later beside him under a blanket, where he allegedly touched her inappropriately. Joseph has pleaded not guilty to the Florida charges and remains free on bond while awaiting trial.

 

Only days after Joseph’s arrest, he and Kendra were also charged in Arkansas in a separate investigation involving multiple counts of second-degree child endangerment and false imprisonment. Authorities have stated those allegations are unrelated to the Florida case. Kendra was arrested, later released on bond, and has also entered a plea of not guilty.

The Caldwells said they remain committed to supporting victims, encouraging truth and accountability, and relying on faith as the family navigates the difficult circumstances. They thanked those who have offered prayers, financial assistance, and emotional support during what they described as an incredibly painful period.

Their statement came amid reports that the Caldwell family has faced significant upheaval following Joseph’s arrest. Kendra’s father recently launched a fundraising campaign to help cover relocation expenses, describing the family’s situation as urgent. Separately, family friend Amy Paul has alleged that the Caldwells were forced to leave their rental home after authorities were notified about Joseph’s alleged conduct, though those claims have not been independently verified.

 

Meanwhile, investigators have said Joseph allegedly admitted his actions during conversations with both the alleged victim’s father and law enforcement before his arrest. His attorneys continue to deny the accusations, and the criminal case remains pending as prosecutors prepare for trial.
