Joseph and Kendra Duggar have lowered the asking price of their Arkansas home as the former reality television star prepares for his upcoming criminal trial in Florida.
The couple recently reduced the listing price of the property by $8,000, bringing it below the $400,000 mark after initially placing it on the market in June. The price adjustment comes just weeks before Joseph is scheduled to appear in court for another hearing in the case involving allegations of child sexual abuse.
Joseph, 31, pleaded not guilty earlier this year to multiple felony charges filed in Florida. Prosecutors allege he sexually abused a 9-year-old girl during a family vacation in Panama City Beach in 2020.
Following his March arrest near the family’s Arkansas home, Joseph was extradited to Florida before later being released on bond.
Only days after his arrest, his wife, Kendra Duggar, was also taken into custody on separate Arkansas charges of second-degree false imprisonment and second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor. Authorities have stated that those allegations stemmed from a home inspection and are unrelated to Joseph’s Florida criminal case. Both Joseph and Kendra have pleaded not guilty to the Arkansas charges.
The Duggars originally listed their three-bedroom, two-bathroom home for $407,900. After several weeks without securing a buyer, the asking price was lowered to $399,900 in what appears to be an effort to generate additional interest.
Situated on approximately 1.14 acres in northwest Arkansas, the home offers 1,738 square feet of living space. Real estate photos show the property almost completely empty, suggesting the family has already moved out.
The listing highlights several features, including a spiral staircase, an updated chef-style kitchen, spacious living areas, a walk-in closet, a large soaking tub, a glass-enclosed shower, and an expansive rear terrace overlooking the surrounding countryside.
Marketing materials describe the property as an opportunity to enjoy rural privacy while remaining within a short drive of nearby amenities.
The decision to sell the home follows reports that the family has been working to ease growing financial pressures.
According to previously released jail phone calls, Joseph and Kendra discussed selling several personal belongings to generate additional income. Among the items reportedly considered for sale were trailers, a four-wheeler, a pressure washer, and a wood splitter.
During the conversations, Kendra also spoke about moving out of the home so it could either be rented or sold while Joseph remained involved in ongoing legal proceedings.
She later posted the bond required to secure Joseph’s release from custody, allowing him to return to Arkansas while awaiting trial.
Florida investigators allege the criminal case began after a now-14-year-old girl disclosed that Joseph repeatedly sexually abused her during a family vacation in Panama City Beach when she was 9 years old.
According to investigators, the girl said Joseph repeatedly invited her to sit on his lap before later asking her to sit beside him beneath a blanket, where he allegedly touched her inappropriately.
Authorities also allege Joseph later apologized for his actions and that the incidents stopped afterward.
Investigators said the girl’s father confronted Joseph in March, during which Joseph allegedly admitted to the conduct. Law enforcement also claims he made similar admissions while speaking with detectives in Arkansas before his arrest.
Joseph has denied all allegations and continues to maintain his innocence.
In addition to the home currently listed for sale, Joseph and Kendra reportedly own several other properties around Tontitown, Arkansas.
Among them is a small cabin the couple renovated shortly after their marriage before later converting it into a short-term rental property. They also own multiple parcels of nearby land, including one property they reportedly purchased for a modest price before renovating it into their primary residence.
The home now listed for sale is located roughly 15 minutes from the Duggar family’s well-known compound, where many episodes of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting were filmed.
Joseph’s legal troubles have renewed public focus on the Duggar family, whose television career ended after earlier scandals involving his older brother, Josh Duggar.
Josh is currently serving a federal prison sentence after being convicted in 2021 of receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material. His projected release date is in 2033.
Meanwhile, Joseph remains free on bond while awaiting trial in Florida. His next court appearance is expected as prosecutors continue pursuing the case against the former reality television personality.
