On her third appearance at Wimbledon, Princess Charlotte drew attention not only to her striking fashion sense but also to her sweet gesture towards her mother, Princess Kate.

On July 13th, the Prince and Princess of Wales brought their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to Centre Court to watch the Wimbledon men’s singles final. Temperatures reached 27 degrees Celsius when the match between Jannik Sinner of Italy and Carlos Alcaraz of Spain began. Like other spectators, the royal family prepared to cope with the heat. They wore hats, sunglasses, and used fans to ward off the stuffiness.
During the match, photographer Karwai Tang captured the moment Princess Charlotte fanned her mother. According to Tang, the 10-year-old princess fanned Kate for a while, making her mother feel “refreshed.” The 43-year-old Princess smiled happily at her daughter, then told her she didn’t need the fan anymore. “Their interaction was lovely,” the photographer remarked.

The Princess of Wales brought a wide-brimmed hat to Wimbledon and wore it throughout the match. Hats are generally discouraged in the royal section as they can obstruct the view of those seated behind, according to Wimbledon’s official website. However, exceptions apply on hot days. Even hats with green and purple ribbons, representing the club’s official colors, are provided to guests on such occasions.
The royal section at Centre Court is also generally not for children due to limited space, with only 74 seats, but exceptions apply for younger members of the royal family. Prince George and Princess Charlotte have attended the tournament three times, but their 7-year-old brother, Prince Louis, has yet to make his Wimbledon debut.

Although Louis was absent, Charlotte and George brought him a special souvenir. After the victory, tennis player Sinner signed tennis balls for George, Charlotte, and Louis.
Kate told the athlete, “We brought one for our little brother too.” William laughed and added, “Otherwise, Louis would be very sad.”
