Kendra Duggar is putting one of the Arkansas properties she shares with her husband Joseph Duggar on the market as the family faces a difficult legal situation ahead of Joseph’s upcoming trial.
The home, located in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, is listed for $407,900. The three-bedroom, two-bathroom property measures approximately 1,738 square feet and sits on more than an acre of land.
The decision to sell the home was reportedly discussed months earlier during a jail phone conversation between Joseph and Kendra.
During the March 25 call, obtained by PEOPLE, the couple talked about whether selling the property would be the better financial option or whether they should keep it as a rental property to provide Kendra with a source of income if Joseph were sentenced to prison.
Joseph reportedly brought up the idea of selling first, suggesting that Kendra could use the money to build another home in the future.
The property is part of a larger piece of land that includes additional homes owned by the couple and used as rental properties. According to property records, the land itself has an estimated appraisal value of around $26,000.
The home listing also comes after Kendra’s family reportedly stayed at the property before circumstances changed following arrests involving Joseph and Kendra in Arkansas.
Joseph’s legal issues extend beyond the Florida case. He is also involved in a separate Arkansas case, where he and Kendra were charged with counts related to alleged child endangerment and false imprisonment. Those charges are unrelated to the Florida allegations.
Joseph was released from jail on a $600,000 bond while awaiting trial. One of the current legal issues involves restrictions placed on his release, including a condition preventing unsupervised contact with minors under the age of 18.
Joseph’s attorneys have requested a modification to allow him to have contact with his own children. Court documents reportedly stated that Joseph had been unable to communicate with his children for an extended period following his legal troubles.
The filing argued that the restrictions have created difficulties for the family, while Kendra was reportedly able to reunite with the children after her release.
Both Joseph and Kendra have entered not guilty pleas to the charges they face.
As the legal proceedings move forward, the sale of the Arkansas home marks another major change for the Duggar family, with Kendra appearing to take a larger role in handling family and financial matters during this uncertain period.
