Princess Kate secretly hosted billionaire Melinda French Gates at Windsor Castle for a private meeting related to charitable activities.

According to information published in the Court Circular – the official record of British royal activities – the Princess of Wales met with Bill Gates’ ex-wife on June 23rd. A statement from Kensington Palace said: “The Princess of Wales, co-patron of the Royal Foundation, hosted Melinda French Gates (founder of Pivotal) at Windsor Castle.”
The meeting took place within the framework of the Royal Foundation’s work – a charity co-run by Prince William and Princess Kate. This is the main foundation for the royal couple’s projects on mental health, child development, nature conservation, support for the homeless, and emergency response.
Melinda French Gates’ attendance as the founder of Pivotal suggests that the two likely discussed initiatives supporting women, youth, and social issues of shared concern.
Melinda French Gates, 61, is one of the world’s most influential philanthropists. She founded Pivotal in 2015 with the goal of promoting social progress for women and youth through philanthropy, investment, and advocacy.
In 2024, she left the Gates Foundation, which she co-founded with her ex-husband, billionaire Bill Gates, to focus entirely on her own projects. According to Bloomberg, her current net worth is estimated at approximately $19.4 billion.
This wasn’t the first time Kate and Melinda French Gates met in Windsor. In June 2025, they had a similar meeting, also representing the Royal Foundation and Pivotal.

This reunion takes place as Princess Kate gradually increases her public duties following her cancer treatment. Recently, she has been frequently appearing at major royal events and actively promoting projects related to mental health and child development – areas considered central to her long-term agenda.
While details of the meeting were not disclosed, Kate’s continued engagement with Melinda French Gates demonstrates the ongoing partnership between the Royal Foundation and Pivotal, aiming to promote broader social initiatives in the future.
