Tensions inside Lil Durk’s high-profile murder-for-hire case are reportedly reaching a breaking point, as two co-defendants are now aggressively trying to distance themselves from the Chicago rapper ahead of trial.
Court filings reveal that OTF members Deandre “OTF DeDe” Wilson and David “Browneyez” Lindsey have renewed motions to be severed from Durk’s case, arguing they should not be tried alongside him. Their legal teams claim their involvement is far more limited than what prosecutors are alleging in the expanding indictment.
Wilson’s attorneys insist his alleged connection only touches the August 2022 Los Angeles shooting attempt involving Quando Rondo, and argue he is being swept into a much broader case that has evolved into a multi-state racketeering prosecution. That expanded case now includes allegations tied to incidents in Atlanta (2019), Georgia (2021), and Chicago (2022)—events Wilson and Lindsey say they were not part of.

Another co-defendant, OTF’s Asa “Boogie” Houston, is also pushing for separation, while still maintaining the shared trial date set for August 20, 2026.
Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald previously rejected severance requests, stating that defendants allegedly tied to the same conspiracy are typically tried together and that evidence overlaps significantly across the case.
Meanwhile, Durk’s legal team continues to deny all allegations, calling the newest racketeering claims part of an overreaching prosecution strategy and maintaining that the rapper remains innocent.
As more defendants attempt to break away, fans are now asking the same question: is this a sinking ship—or a coordinated defense strategy before the biggest hip-hop trial in years? 😳
