Moana’s beautiful island of Motunui is suddenly cursed, causing fish and shrimp to disappear and trees to wither. The reason is that the demigod Maui stole the heart of the island god Te Fiti thousands of years ago. The sea has chosen Moana, the chieftain’s daughter, to cross the ocean to find Maui and force him to return the heart to the island god.
Moana sails alone and finds Maui on a deserted island. At first, Maui is arrogant and refuses to help.
