Joseph Duggar is asking a Florida court to modify the no-contact order connected to his ongoing criminal case so he can communicate with his four children.
According to court documents filed on May 17, the former 19 Kids and Counting personality requested permission to have contact with his “biological children,” whom he reportedly has not been able to communicate with since March 31.
The current court order prohibits Duggar from having contact with minors under the age of 18 while legal proceedings continue.
Duggar’s legal team argued in the filing that the alleged victim in the case is not related to him and stated that the restrictions are creating “a hardship for the family unit.”
Joseph Duggar, 31, shares four children with his wife, Kendra Duggar.
He was arrested in March in Florida and is facing charges related to alleged inappropriate conduct involving a minor. Duggar has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Court records show that the motion requesting changes to the no-contact order is expected to be discussed during a hearing scheduled for June 20.
Meanwhile, Kendra Duggar was previously allowed to reunite with the couple’s children after a separate no-contact order involving her was lifted in April.
The Duggar family has remained in the public spotlight due to their past reality television fame and the ongoing legal proceedings surrounding the case.
