Rebecca Park’s sister is no longer facing criminal charges related to the death of the Michigan mother-to-be, who was found dead in the woods with her unborn baby cut out of her womb in November 2025.

Kimberly Park had been charged with tampering with evidence, lying to a police officer and filing a false report after police accused her of providing false statements about her pregnant sister’s whereabouts on the night she went missing.

She also allegedly claimed to police that Rebecca’s boyfriend at the time and the father of her unborn child, Richard Falor, was responsible for her death, according to a copy of the probable cause affidavit obtained by PEOPLE.

Kimberly claimed that Falor told her he had killed her sister and that “something went wrong while trying to cut the baby out of Rebecca,” the affidavit states.

Falor is not a suspect and has not been charged with or investigated for any wrongdoing.

Deputies ultimately arrested Kimberly and booked her into custody just hours after Rebecca’s body was discovered in the Manistee National Forest on Nov. 25.

She was released a week later after her bail was reduced from $750,000 to $5,000 and has been on house arrest with electronic monitoring.

Wexford County Prosecutor Johanna Carey previously claimed in court that Rebecca was still alive when she was killed by her biological mother and stepfather, Cortney and Bradly Bartholomew, who she alleged then cut Rebecca’s unborn child out of her womb.

This came after prosecutors alleged in court that the two stabbed and tortured the 22-year-old in an act Carey described as “evil personified.”

Carey alleged that Rebecca had been murdered by the couple after they lured her to their home on Nov. 3 by claiming they had a check to give her as part of an inheritance from a recently deceased relative, according to the affidavit.

Cortney and Bradly both face one count each of first-degree murder, felony murder, torture, conspiracy to commit torture, ๐’ถ๐“ˆ๐“ˆ๐’ถ๐“Š๐“๐“‰ on a pregnant individual causing miscarriage/stillbirth and conspiracy to commit ๐’ถ๐“ˆ๐“ˆ๐’ถ๐“Š๐“๐“‰ on a pregnant individual causing miscarriage/stillbirth.

Each of those six charges carries a possible life sentence in prison.

They are also charged with one count each of unlawful imprisonment and removal of a dead body.

Bradly allegedly told officials that the couple tried to steal the unborn baby because they could not legally adopt since he is a registered ๐’”๐’†๐’™ offender, according to the affidavit.

The proceedings in that case are on pause currently as the competency of both individuals is being determined ahead of a possible trial.

Prosecutors noted in court that the charges against Kimberly were being dismissed without prejudice, meaning that those same charges can be refiled at any time.

It is unclear if the charges were dropped in exchange for Kimberly’s cooperation with the prosecution’s case, and the Wexford County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
