Former reality TV star Josh Duggar is once again making headlines after newly revealed emails exposed deep fractures within the famous Duggar family following his 2021 arrest and subsequent conviction on child sexual abuse material charges.

How Josh Duggar's Siblings Are Moving on After His Scandals - ABC NewsAccording to emails obtained by PEOPLE, Josh claimed that only two of his 18 siblings contacted him during the year following his arrest — a reality he described as “shameful.” The disgraced former 19 Kids and Counting star reportedly sent the emotional message to his father, Jim Bob Duggar, just days after receiving a 151-month federal prison sentence.

In the email, Josh alleged that he received just one written message and one video visit from siblings throughout the entire ordeal. He identified Jessa Duggar Seewald as the sibling who reached out via message, while John-David Duggar reportedly participated in a video call.

The email also reportedly included a message Josh wanted shared with the entire Duggar family, urging his brothers and sisters to “examine their hearts” and consider how they would want to be treated if they were imprisoned themselves.

At the center of Josh’s emotional plea was also his wife, Anna Duggar, and their seven children. Josh allegedly described Anna as “practically a widow” while saying his children had effectively become “fatherless” during his incarceration.

The Duggar family’s public image has been surrounded by controversy for over a decade. Josh first faced public backlash in 2015 after reports surfaced alleging he had molested several girls as a teenager, including some of his sisters. Years later, in 2021, federal investigators arrested him on charges related to receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material.
