Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar are once again facing public scrutiny after their son Joseph Duggar was arrested in connection to disturbing allegations involving a child.

The arrest has shocked longtime followers of the Duggar family, whose carefully crafted image first gained national attention through TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting before years of scandals dismantled the family’s television empire.

According to reports, Joseph Duggar was arrested in March 2026 and is facing serious charges tied to allegations that he molested a 9-year-old girl during a family vacation in 2020. Prosecutors say the alleged incidents happened while the families were vacationing in Florida.

Joseph has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The case has triggered intense backlash online, with many critics pointing to the Duggar family’s troubled history surrounding allegations against Josh Duggar years earlier.

Josh Duggar’s 2015 molestation scandal — involving several of his sisters — ultimately led to the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting. Despite years away from television, the Duggar family continues to attract public attention due to ongoing legal drama, fractured relationships within the family and criticism surrounding their ultra-conservative beliefs and ties to the Institute in Basic Life Principles organization.
