The teenager accused of killing the uncle of Big Boi will remain behind bars after a Fulton County judge denied his request for bond.

According to reports, 19-year-old Jabyrion Crumbley is facing multiple felony charges, including murder, in connection with the 2025 shooting death of Big Boi’s uncle, Remoin Patton Sr..
Authorities say the fatal incident happened on June 16, 2025, along Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard in Atlanta following what investigators describe as a heated road rage confrontation.

Prosecutors allege the argument escalated after Patton attempted to make a turn and became involved in a dispute with another driver. During the confrontation, Crumbley allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot Patton in the back.
After being struck, Patton reportedly lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a nearby vacant house. He later died from his injuries.
During the bond hearing, Crumbley’s attorneys argued the shooting was an act of self-defense. However, prosecutors emphasized that Patton was allegedly shot from behind — a detail that has become central to the case and raises serious questions about the self-defense claim.

The judge ultimately sided with prosecutors and ruled that Crumbley should remain in custody as the case moves forward.
The tragedy deeply impacted Big Boi, one-half of the legendary hip-hop duo Outkast. Shortly after the shooting, the rapper posted an emotional tribute on social media honoring his uncle, whom he affectionately referred to as “Uncle Moonie.”
Fans and fellow artists flooded the comments with condolences as news of the case spread online.
The investigation remains ongoing, and Crumbley is expected to face additional court proceedings in the coming months.
