Joy-Anna Duggar Is Pregnant with Baby No. 4, Expecting with Husband Austin Forsyth: ‘God Knew We Needed You’

Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth are getting ready to welcome another addition to their family.

The former Counting On star, 28, announced on Tuesday, Sept. 1, that she and Forsyth are expecting their fourth child together.

 

Duggar shared the pregnancy news on Instagram alongside several photos showing off her growing baby bump. In one photo, she posed in a long white dress as Forsyth stood behind her with his hands beneath her belly. Another image showed the couple holding ultrasound photos while leaning in for a kiss.

“Coming 2027!! So much joy, so much excitement, and so much love for this little one already. God knew we needed you 🤍,” the couple wrote in their announcement.

The baby will join the couple’s three children: Gideon, 8, Evelyn, 5, and Gunner, 3.

The pregnancy announcement comes after months of speculation from fans, who had previously wondered whether Duggar and Forsyth were preparing to expand their family.

In February, the couple addressed those rumors during an appearance on Joy-Anna’s sister Jinger Duggar’s podcast.

At the time, Jinger’s husband, Jeremy Vuolo, jokingly brought up the possibility that the couple was expecting another baby while discussing their recent move and life with three children.

“So you guys are going through a lot. You just moved. You’ve got three children with a fourth on the way. Which we’re going to be announcing today. Is that not yet?” Vuolo asked.

“Not yet,” Forsyth responded as he and Joy-Anna shook their heads.

When Vuolo directly asked whether there was a rumor that Joy-Anna was pregnant, she acknowledged that there was.

“Yes,” she said at the time, adding with a laugh, “That’s so Duggar of them!”

Several months later, the couple has now confirmed that the speculation was, in fact, pointing toward a real pregnancy.

The happy news also comes years after Joy-Anna experienced a devastating loss.

 

In 2019, she and Forsyth lost their daughter at 20 weeks of pregnancy. Joy-Anna later opened up about the experience during a 2025 appearance on The Jinger and Jeremy Podcast, becoming emotional as she recalled the moment she learned something was wrong.

Looking back, she said she had experienced a feeling that something might not be right, although she initially questioned whether she was simply worrying too much.

“I just remember feeling so numb leaving the ultrasound,” she recalled.

Joy-Anna also spoke about the importance of having support from her family during that difficult period, particularly her mother, who had experienced pregnancy loss herself.

“I’m so thankful that I had my mom there that had been through it before,” she said. “And I had a really good support team, but even with all of that, it was extremely difficult.”

Now, Joy-Anna and Forsyth are preparing for a very different chapter as they look ahead to welcoming their fourth child in 2027.

While the couple has not yet revealed additional details about the pregnancy, their announcement made one thing clear: they are already eagerly anticipating the newest member of their family.
