LIL DURK’S FEDERAL CASE TAKES A DARK TURN—A DEAD MAN’S WORDS AND A SECRET WITNESS COULD DECIDE HIS FATE

Lil Durk’s federal case has entered a far more dangerous phase after new court filings revealed that prosecutors may rely on a secret witness whose knowledge allegedly comes from statements made by the late THF Bayzoo.

The development has triggered chaos across social media, where some users quickly labeled Bayzoo a cooperating witness. But according to the filings described in the case, that interpretation may be wrong.

Bayzoo is not identified as the person expected to testify.

Instead, the government reportedly plans to call a witness known only as PW2. That individual allegedly learned key details about a 2019 Atlanta shooting from Bayzoo before his death in October 2025.

That distinction could become one of the biggest battles of the trial.

Because Bayzoo is dead, Lil Durk’s lawyers cannot question him, challenge his memory, or test the circumstances under which the alleged statements were made. The defense argues that allowing PW2 to repeat those claims would force the jury to judge Durk based partly on the words of a man who can never take the stand.

Prosecutors may argue that the statements fall under exceptions to the hearsay rule, including communications connected to an alleged conspiracy. Durk’s team is expected to fight aggressively to keep them out.

The case has also become a battle over timing.

Durk’s attorneys claim the government resisted an earlier trial date because prosecutors needed more time to develop witnesses and revive allegations connected to Atlanta. They argue that had the trial begun earlier, Durk would have faced a narrower case with less evidence.

Now, prosecutors may present allegations involving the Los Angeles murder-for-hire case, the Atlanta shooting, and a suspected stolen-car operation.

PW2’s identity remains sealed, but the filings reportedly indicate that the witness may have participated in criminal activity. That gives the defense another opening: why should jurors trust someone who may be testifying to protect themselves?

Durk has pleaded not guilty and has remained in custody while awaiting trial. The most serious charges could expose him to life in prison if convicted.
