WISE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ/WVVA) – Virginia State Police report they have obtained ten warrants for a missing high school football coach.
Travis L. Turner, 46, of Appalachia, is wanted on five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor. Police say aditional charges are pending.
Police continue searching for Turner, saying since his disappearance, VSP has utilized search and rescue teams, drones and K9s to assist in the search. VSP says while the priority is finding Turner safely, he is now considered a fugitive.
Thursday, November 20, 2025, as part of the early stages of an investigation, VSP Special Agents were sent to Turner’s home in Appalachia, in Wise County. Police say that visit was not to arrest him, but was simply part of the investigation. While on their way, the agents were told Turner was no longer at the location.
Turner, the Union High School head football coach, has been listed as a missing person in the Virginia State Police missing persons database, which says he was last reported seen Thursday, November 20. The database says Turner was wearing a gray sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and glasses.
