Kendra Duggar has reportedly cut off communication with her parents as her husband, Joseph Duggar, continues to face serious criminal charges.
According to a source, Kendra is no longer in contact with her parents, Paul and Christina Caldwell, or her eight siblings. The report also claims the Caldwell family has moved out of the home where they had been living, placed their belongings in storage and is considering relocating out of state as they try to rebuild their lives.
The family’s situation reportedly became increasingly difficult after Joseph’s arrest. Paul Caldwell previously said they lost both their housing and employment and have been searching for a fresh start. The source added that the Caldwells hope to distance themselves from the Duggar family but are hurt by Kendra’s decision to cut ties.
Joseph was arrested in March on charges alleging he molested a 9-year-old girl during a 2020 family vacation in Florida. He has pleaded not guilty and was later released on a $600,000 bond while awaiting trial.
Just two days after Joseph’s arrest, Kendra was also charged in Arkansas with child endangerment. She was released after posting bond.
Despite the reported estrangement, the Caldwell family has publicly expressed support for both Kendra and her children while also standing behind Joseph’s alleged victim. In a statement released after the arrest, they said they were “troubled and heartbroken” by the allegations and praised the girl for her courage in coming forward. They also said they continue to pray for Kendra and her four children as the family faces an extremely difficult chapter.
Joseph and Kendra, who married in 2017, share four young children and continue to face mounting legal challenges as his criminal case moves toward trial.
