Police Say D4vd Had ‘Burn Box’ Hidden Inside Home as Murder Investigation Uncovers More Disturbing Evidence

New testimony in D4vd’s murder case has revealed investigators discovered what police described as a “burn box” inside the singer’s Hollywood Hills home, adding another unsettling piece of evidence to the prosecution’s case.

During a preliminary hearing, LAPD Detective Joshua Byers testified that officers found the device hidden behind a piano while executing a search warrant at the property in September 2025. According to the detective, the burn box functions like a small cremation chamber capable of burning items down to almost nothing.

Prosecutors allege the device was purchased just days after 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez was killed. Investigators also say D4vd—whose real name is David Anthony Burke—bought chainsaws, cadaver bags, heavy-duty laundry bags, an inflatable pool and other items during the same period, purchases they believe were connected to efforts to conceal the crime.

Authorities allege Burke fatally stabbed Celeste on April 23, 2025, before dismembering her body and placing her remains in two bags inside the front trunk of his Tesla. The vehicle was later impounded, and the teenager’s remains were discovered several months later after reports of a foul odor.

Court filings further allege Burke and Celeste had an illegal sexual relationship that began when she was 13 years old and continued even after they briefly separated. Prosecutors claim explicit messages and photographs found during the investigation support those allegations.

Burke, 21, has pleaded not guilty to charges including murder with special circumstances, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He remains jailed without bail as the preliminary hearing continues, while prosecutors decide whether to seek the death penalty if the case proceeds to trial.
