A new lead in the search for missing Tucson woman Nancy Guthrie has emerged, igniting hope and urgency among her loved ones and search volunteers. An anonymous tip suggesting her remains may be buried in an unmarked grave in Mexico has prompted a renewed effort to locate her.
The volunteer organization Buscando Corazones Nogales, dedicated to finding missing persons, received the unsettling information on Wednesday. They quickly mobilized a team to scour a remote region near the U.S.-Mexico border, approximately 70 miles from where Nancy was abducted from her home in February.
While the search team uncovered 25 unmarked graves in the area, they reported no signs of Nancy. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has stated that they were not informed by Mexican authorities about the tip or the ongoing search. However, they emphasized that their investigation remains active and that they are committed to pursuing any credible information that arises.
Despite the lack of findings, the search group, in collaboration with the Sonora State Commission for the Search of Missing Persons, is determined to continue their efforts. They plan to return to the area for further searches, fueled by the hope of bringing Nancy home.
As the mystery deepens and her family maintains a $1 million reward for information leading to her whereabouts, the question lingers: will this latest tip finally provide the answers they desperately seek?
