Princess Kate posts new photos with Prince William and family after completing the National Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for cancer patients.
On July 5th, Kate shared a rare series of family photos on Instagram after completing the National Three Peaks Challenge – a challenge to conquer the three highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales to raise funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
In the post, the Princess of Wales wrote: “At this time last week, I completed the National Three Peaks Challenge. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the Royal Marsden Charity.”
The most striking photo captures Kate embracing Prince William after finishing the journey. In another, she stands next to her three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Prince George, 12 years old, is now almost taller than his mother. The following photos capture many everyday moments of the family.
In particular, the final photo brings together the entire family, including Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, and her younger brother, James Middleton. This is a rare occasion where the Princess publicly shared images of her loved ones who have been by her side throughout her battle with cancer.
Kate announced her cancer diagnosis in March 2024 and temporarily withdrew from public activities to receive treatment. In September of the same year, she announced that she had completed chemotherapy, and in January 2025 confirmed that her condition was in remission. Since the beginning of this year, the Princess has gradually returned to royal duties, while also actively participating in activities to raise awareness and fundraise for cancer patients.
According to British media, the Middleton family has been a crucial source of emotional support for Kate since her diagnosis. During the time the Princess temporarily withdrew from royal activities for treatment, her parents and brother were frequently by her side, supporting her and sharing the care of her three grandchildren.
Earlier, on June 28th, Kate unexpectedly revealed that she had secretly completed the National Three Peaks Challenge. The challenge requires participants to conquer the three highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon – within 24 hours, covering a total distance of approximately 37 km and accumulating an altitude of over 3,000 m. According to confirmation from Buckingham Palace, Prince William and their three children were waiting for Kate at the summit of Snowdon, the finish line of the journey.
In a message posted on the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity website, the Princess stated that she participated in the challenge not only to test her health after treatment but also to inspire those battling cancer.
“Every year, hundreds of thousands of people in this country hear words no one wants to hear. Then comes a journey that challenges every aspect of a person: physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual. The effects extend to family, friends, work, and even the most private moments,” she wrote.
Kate said the illness not only affects the body but also changes how people think, feel, and perceive life. The Princess of Wales shared: “I understand that from my own experience. The journey of treatment and recovery requires more than just medicine. I undertook this challenge not simply as a physical journey but also as an opportunity to explore life after diagnosis and to respond in some way to what I have received.”
