Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos slams 'scary' social media streamers who've flooded Nancy Guthrie's nabe

In a 𝓈𝒽𝓸𝒸𝓀𝒾𝓃𝑔 turn of events, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has condemned the actions of social media streamers who have descended upon the Catalina Foothills neighborhood of Nancy Guthrie, the missing mother of “TODAY Show” host Savannah Guthrie. Describing their behavior as “scary” and “egregious,” Nanos voiced his concerns just days after three individuals were arrested in the area.

“We’ve received numerous calls from residents about a group of these, let’s call them, YouTubers,” Sheriff Nanos told KVOA on Wednesday. “The complaints have escalated to a point where the actions of these individuals are causing genuine fear within the community.”

Among those causing alarm is Alexander Zabel, a YouTuber reportedly living in a tent on the same street as Guthrie. Neighbors have alleged that he was seen engaging in inappropriate behavior, including urinating in public and leaving bottles of waste on their properties. This prompted the sheriff’s office to take action against the influx of social media creators who have been flocking to the quiet suburban area since the 84-year-old Guthrie’s mysterious disappearance on February 1.

The crackdown began earlier this week when three individuals—Troy Lewis Bradshaw, 34, Todd Enderle, 46, and Zabel, 54—were arrested on charges ranging from public nuisance to obstructing a thoroughfare. “Effective immediately, anyone violating the law may be cited and released for a first offense,” the Pima County Sheriff’s Department stated. “However, repeat offenders could face arrest and booking at the Pima County Adult Detention Complex.”

As the search for Guthrie continues, the neighborhood has become a magnet for streamers eager to capture content related to the case. Reports indicate that some individuals have been seen filming outside her home in revealing attire, prompting a surge of complaints from local residents.

The unsettling mystery surrounding her disappearance remains unresolved, with authorities yet to identify any leads or suspects. The only clue released to the public is a chilling image of a masked figure captured on home security cameras, allegedly breaking into Guthrie’s residence on the night she vanished.

As the investigation unfolds, one question lingers: how far will social media creators go in their quest for attention?
