Chlöe Bailey has teamed up with legendary producer Timbaland for a new 13-track mixtape titled Resurrection, a project that began unexpectedly after Timbaland slid into her DMs following a viral video of her making beats online.
According to Chlöe, the collaboration started when Timbaland saw her posting behind-the-scenes clips of her producing music on social media. Impressed by her creativity and energy, he reached out directly, sparking a two-month creative process built largely through FaceTime calls and iMessage exchanges.
Rather than working in a traditional studio setting, the entire project was created remotely. Timbaland would send instrumentals, and Chlöe would write and record ideas before sending them back for feedback. This back-and-forth process continued until the project took full shape as Resurrection, a 13-track mixtape centered on experimentation and artistic freedom.
Chlöe has described the project as deeply personal, saying it represents a creative rebirth not only for herself but also for the energy she and Timbaland brought into the collaboration.
The title Resurrection reflects what Chlöe calls a return to confidence and inspiration. She explained that the process helped restore her belief in her artistry during a period where she had been experimenting with her sound and identity as a solo performer.
She emphasized that the project felt less like a commercial rollout and more like a passion-driven creative exchange. According to her, the music carries that raw energy throughout the 13 tracks.
A key part of this collaboration was Chlöe’s decision to share her creative process online. By posting videos of herself building beats and experimenting with production, she unintentionally opened the door to direct collaboration with one of her musical inspirations.
This approach reflects a broader trend in modern music, where artists use platforms like Instagram and TikTok not only for promotion but also as a space to showcase unfinished ideas and attract collaboration opportunities.
Chlöe’s rise has long been tied to internet exposure, beginning with early viral covers alongside her sister Halle Bailey before transitioning into mainstream success.
Now, with Resurrection, she continues that trajectory—using social media as both a creative diary and a professional gateway, while connecting directly with established industry figures like Timbaland.
Chlöe has described the mixtape as a genuine, emotionally driven body of work rather than a heavily engineered commercial release. The chemistry between her and Timbaland, combined with the fast, remote production process, gives the project a spontaneous and experimental feel.
For both artists, Resurrection represents a creative reset—one born from digital connection, mutual respect, and a shared passion for pushing musical boundaries.
