More than a decade after they first met, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are still making fans believe in love. To celebrate Blake Shelton’s 50th birthday on June 18, People published a collection of the couple’s sweetest moments together, tracing their journey from co-stars on The Voice to one of music’s most adored married couples.

Their story began in 2014 when they met as coaches on The Voice. At the time, both were going through painful divorces, and what started as friendship gradually turned into something much deeper. By late 2015, they had officially gone public with their relationship, surprising fans who never expected the California pop icon and the Oklahoma country star to become a perfect match.
Since then, they’ve become inseparable.
The pair have released multiple hit duets together, including “Nobody But You,” “Happy Anywhere,” and “Purple Irises,” songs that often mirror their real-life romance. Gwen once described Purple Irises as being about planting hope and watching love grow, a fitting metaphor for a relationship that has thrived despite years of tabloid rumors.
In 2021, Shelton proposed to Stefani at his Oklahoma ranch in front of her three sons, and the couple later married in an intimate ceremony at the same property. Since then, Blake has embraced his role as a stepfather, saying he has fallen in love with Gwen’s boys “as much as” he loves her.
And despite endless rumors that their marriage is on the rocks, the couple continues to prove otherwise.
Earlier this year, they rang in 2026 with a romantic New Year’s kiss, exchanged heartfelt Valentine’s Day messages, and Blake recently supported Gwen during No Doubt’s Las Vegas residency. Gwen, meanwhile, celebrated Blake’s 50th birthday by posting a touching video montage set to their duet Happy Anywhere, simply writing: “I love you.”
The photos tell a story fans already know:
Two people from completely different worlds who somehow found exactly what they needed in each other.
And more than 10 years after they met, Gwen and Blake still look just as in love as they did at the beginning.
