He stated, “a little someone agreed to a fight but actually signing the dotted line isn’t that easy when you know you’re just signing for a show purse.” Speculation has been swirling around the possibility of du Plessis facing former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman in a middleweight clash, potentially headlining UFC Oklahoma City on July 18. However, no official announcement has been made yet.
The post continued with du Plessis addressing his fans, apologizing for the delay. He reassured them that from his perspective, everything has been “signed and sealed for a while.” While he didn’t explicitly name Usman, the context of his comments has led many to believe that the former champion is the one in question.
