In a chilling turn of events, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has issued an alert for a kidnapping suspect just seven miles from the home of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, who mysteriously vanished earlier this year. The suspect, Coral Michelle Smith, a 40-year-old with a lengthy criminal record, is wanted in connection with a separate kidnapping case in Tucson.

Smith’s alleged involvement in a kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon incident dates back to May 29, occurring at the intersection of River Road and La Cholla Boulevard. This location is alarmingly close to where Nancy Guthrie disappeared in the early hours of February 1.

While authorities have urged the community to keep an eye out for Smith, they have not disclosed any links between her and Guthrie’s case. Nancy’s disappearance has left many questions unanswered, and now the emergence of another kidnapping suspect adds to the growing concern.

Court documents reveal that Smith has faced multiple charges over the years, including kidnapping, assault, robbery, and disorderly conduct. Her criminal history features four prison sentences, with convictions ranging from robbery in 2011 to aggravated assault in 2023. Notably, a 2019 case involving kidnapping and 𝒹𝓇𝓊𝑔 charges was dismissed, but it raised serious alarms due to the age of the alleged victim.

Described as 5-foot-6 and weighing 136 pounds, Smith has blonde hair, blue eyes, and several tattoos, including a smiley face and heart on her right ankle and a rose with flames on her right foot. She has also been known to use various aliases, such as Corral Albright and Under The Sea Smith.

As the investigation unfolds, the community remains on high alert. What does this mean for the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie? The answers may be closer than we think.
