High Stakes Showdown: Ciryl Gane Enlists Kickboxing Rival for Epic UFC Clash Against Alex Pereira!

Ciryl Gane is pulling out all the stops as he gears up to face Alex Pereira in a highly anticipated matchup for the interim UFC heavyweight title this Sunday at UFC White House. With the stakes higher than ever, Gane has enlisted the expertise of Artem Vakhitov, a former kickboxing rival of Pereira, to sharpen his skills for the showdown.

The two fighters will clash in Newark, New Jersey, and Gane is leaving nothing to chance. Vakhitov, who faced Pereira twice in the Glory kickboxing arena, knows firsthand the challenges posed by the knockout artist. Their history includes a split decision loss for Vakhitov in their first bout, followed by a majority decision victory in their rematch, which marked the end of Pereira’s kickboxing career. Vakhitov believes he has the key to disrupting Pereira’s rhythm.

“People often feel intimidated, but there’s no need for that. The best approach is to apply pressure right from the start,” Vakhitov shared during an interview on UFC Countdown. He emphasized that while Pereira is known for his powerful strikes, he also has vulnerabilities that can be exploited. “His defense isn’t as strong as his offense. Many fighters lose before the fight even begins because they’re too afraid. You have to take the initiative and be aggressive; that’s when he starts to falter.”

Pereira, a formidable force in the octagon, has earned his reputation as one of the most dangerous knockout artists in MMA, holding titles in both middleweight and light heavyweight divisions. However, his encounters with skilled kickboxers like Gane have proven to be challenging, especially as Pereira moves up in weight once more. Vakhitov believes this shift could tilt the advantage in Gane’s favor.

“Look at how Adesanya capitalized on his weaknesses. Ciryl, being a kickboxer himself, brings excellent movement, speed, and timing to the table. This is going to be a fascinating fight,” Vakhitov added. He expressed confidence that Gane will seize the opportunity, predicting a swift finish that could see him crowned champion.

On the other hand, Pereira remains unfazed by Gane’s strategic preparations. The former two-division UFC champion dismissed the notion that Vakhitov’s insights would give Gane an edge. “Training with Vakhitov? It won’t change much,” Pereira stated. He asserted that the differences between kickboxing and MMA are significant and emphasized his evolution as a fighter since their last encounter. “If Vakhitov is being honest, the best advice he could give is to be cautious. I’m a tough opponent.”

As fight night approaches, fans are buzzing with anticipation for this heavyweight clash. UFC White House is set to feature a main event that includes a lightweight title unification bout between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje, adding even more excitement to the card. Will Gane’s strategy pay off, or will Pereira prove once again why he’s a champion?
