Bryce Mitchell's Hilarious Laundry Blunder: How a Nipple Burn Almost Sabotaged His UFC Vegas 118 Showdown!

Bryce Mitchell is no stranger to bizarre injuries, but his latest mishap might just take the cake. Ahead of his fight against Santiago Luna at UFC Vegas 118 this Saturday, Mitchell shared a shocking story about a painful encounter with laundry detergent that left him with a serious nipple burn.

During a media day event, Mitchell recounted the incident that unfolded while he was training. “It was accidentally,” he explained, detailing how he had some laundry detergent trapped in his shirt. As he worked out, the detergent began to seep into his skin, creating an unexpected foamy situation. “I was actually with TJ [Brown], and we were laughing because we thought I was sweating out all the milk I drink, considering I go through a gallon a day,” he said.

However, the laughter quickly turned to concern when the suds transformed from innocent bubbles to a painful realization. “Then it started getting bubbly and foamy, and I was like, ‘No, bro, that’s not milk. That’s soap,’” Mitchell recalled. By the time he figured out what was happening, it was too late. His chest was burning, and he suffered a painful burn on his nipples from the detergent.

Despite the discomfort, Mitchell is grateful that the injury didn’t sideline him from his upcoming bout. He is eager to find his footing in the octagon after a streak of alternating wins and losses in his last seven fights. Originally set to face Victor Henry, Mitchell’s opponent had to withdraw due to injury, leading to Luna stepping in on short notice just nine days before the fight.

Mitchell expressed no hard feelings towards Henry or his team, showing appreciation for their transparency during the situation. “I’ve only talked to Josh [Barnett] once, right when Victor got hurt,” he said. “He told me Victor’s knee was totally torn. It was really nice to hear from his coach and Victor messaged me too. That’s what you call a class act.”

He added that he respects both Henry and Barnett for their honesty, especially given the severity of Henry’s injury. “It just makes me even more grateful because a lot of stuff goes wrong with us, we have little injuries and stuff like that we can complain about, but Victor Henry’s out for a year. He has to get surgery, he can’t walk right now,” Mitchell reflected.

As he prepares for his first fight of 2026, Mitchell’s focus is on resilience and gratitude, even in the face of unexpected challenges. What other surprises might be in store for him as he steps into the octagon this weekend?
