Former television actor Nick Pasqual has been sentenced to 32 years to life in prison after being convicted in the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend, Hollywood makeup artist Allie Shehorn.
The sentencing follows a violent 2024 attack in which prosecutors said Pasqual broke into Shehorn’s Los Angeles home and stabbed her more than 20 times.
According to court proceedings, Pasqual was convicted of multiple charges, including first-degree residential burglary involving a person inside the home and domestic violence-related offenses.
Authorities said Shehorn survived the brutal assault despite suffering extensive injuries. Investigators found her lying in a pool of blood after the stabbing.
The case drew widespread attention not only because of Pasqual’s brief acting career — which included an appearance on How I Met Your Mother — but also because of the disturbing timeline leading up to the attack.
Court testimony revealed that just days before the stabbing, Pasqual had already been arrested following another alleged violent altercation with Shehorn. Despite the earlier incident, he was released from jail after posting $50,000 bail.
During the trial, Shehorn testified about the escalating abuse she allegedly experienced before the attack. She told jurors that a violent confrontation between the couple ultimately led to their breakup and her decision to seek legal protection.
According to testimony presented in court, Shehorn had previously filed for a restraining order against Pasqual, accusing him of domestic violence.
She described one frightening incident in which Pasqual allegedly forced his way through a locked door while she attempted to hide from him inside a bathroom.
“I thought there’s another lock on that door,” Shehorn reportedly testified while recounting the encounter.
The emotional courtroom testimony was accompanied by visible scars Shehorn still carries from the stabbing attack.
Outside of the case, Shehorn is known for her work as a makeup artist on several major Hollywood productions, including Mean Girls, Rebel Moon, and Babylon.
Pasqual, meanwhile, had appeared in several television projects over the years, though his acting credits remained relatively minor.
The sentence brings a close to a case prosecutors described as an extreme act of domestic violence that nearly ended in tragedy.
