Princess Kate’s ‘chaotic’ school run journey with jam sandwiches in the car
The future Queen is the proud mother of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, whom she shares with her husband, Prince William

The Princess of Wales may be the future Queen of England, but even she isn’t immune to what her husband, Prince William, described as a “chaotic” daily school run.
The royal couple are the proud parents of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, and, while appearing on Heart Radio on Friday morning, Prince William confessed that their morning dash involves copious snacks and music.
Asked by hosts, Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston, if the school run is a chaotic affair, the future King, 43, said: “It can be. It depends if thereโs a guitar lesson going on in the morning – a music lesson – youโve got to get the guitar in the car. No, weโre not taking the guitar; we need the bag for school. Are we boarding? No, we’re not. Are we seeing friends? No, weโre not. So thereโs all that going on in the morning.”

The Prince added that Jam sandwiches are a common on-the-move snack, which Prince Louis particularly enjoys. ‘Thereโs a lot of jam sandwiches taken in the car usually,” William added. “Louis will leave jam fingerprints throughout the car, which is really helpful.”
The Prince then had a message for his children, hinting that Charlotte and Louis “fighting” over the choice of music in the morning is a regular occurrence. “Charlotte and Louis, if you’re listening, make sure youโre on time, please, make sure youโre not fighting over who listens to what this morning,” he said before DJ Jamie dedicated Opalite to the royal children.
It’s no surprise that was the track of choice as William and his brood are Swiftes, with George and Charlotte meeting the American-born singer back in 2024, when they attended the London leg of her Eras tour shows.

“Charlotte, my daughter and Louis are fans. Charlotte, particularly, is obsessed with Taylor Swift. She saw her in the Eras Tour, it was amazing. We did meet her,” William explained on air.
‘Amazing mum’ Kate
While on air, William also made sure to heap praise on his adoring wife Kate, whom he married in 2011, whom he described as an “amazing” mum and wife, as well as how proud he is of her for stepping out solo in Italy last week following her cancer recovery.
“I’m very very proud. She’s amazing, sheโs been through so much in the last couple of years, particularly, and sheโs been looking forward to the Italian trip a lot, so Iโm really glad it went really well,” he said, adding that the Princess came back “buzzing” from her overseas visit.
As for Kate’s most important role, he added: “She’s an amazing mum and an amazing wife, and literally our family couldnโt cope without her, so she’s been absolutely stunning.”
