Joy-Anna Duggar is speaking out following the shocking arrest of her brother, Joseph Duggar, who is facing serious child molestation charges in Florida.
In an emotional statement shared to her Instagram Stories, Joy-Anna admitted she has been struggling privately ever since the allegations became public.
“What has come out about my brother is heartbreaking and deeply disturbing,” she wrote. “My heart is with the victim, and I am grieved by the pain and harm caused.”
The 28-year-old reality TV personality also revealed the emotional toll the situation has taken on her personally, saying she has “been a wreck this week” and needs time away from social media to process everything with her family.
Joseph Duggar, 31, was arrested on March 18 and charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12 years old, along with lewd and lascivious conduct by an adult. According to court documents, investigators claim Joseph admitted during a recorded phone call that he had repeatedly abused a 9-year-old girl during a family vacation in Florida back in 2020.
The scandal has shaken the Duggar family once again, years after Josh Duggar’s criminal convictions and molestation scandal made national headlines.
Several Duggar siblings have now publicly reacted to Joseph’s arrest. Jill Duggar Dillard said she was “shocked and heartbroken,” while Jinger Duggar described the situation as “unthinkable” during a recent podcast episode with her husband, Jeremy Vuolo.
Meanwhile, cousin Amy Duggar King strongly condemned the allegations and praised the alleged victim’s bravery for coming forward.
Days after Joseph’s arrest, his wife Kendra Duggar was also arrested in Arkansas on unrelated charges connected to child welfare and false imprisonment allegations. Family representatives insist those charges are separate from Joseph’s Florida case.
Joseph has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting further court proceedings.
