In a heartbreaking turn of events, Nancy Guthrie, the beloved 84-year-old mother of “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie, has now been missing for three months following a suspected abduction from her long-time home in the Catalina Foothills, north of Tucson, Arizona. Local authorities are intensifying their efforts, stating that the search for Nancy remains “active and ongoing.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is urging anyone with information about Nancy’s case to step forward. A spokesperson emphasized the importance of community involvement, saying, “Anyone with information related to the Nancy Guthrie case is encouraged to come forward. Please contact 88-CRIME or the FBI tip line at 1-800-225-5324.”

This renewed appeal comes on the heels of significant developments, including DNA samples from the crime scene being sent to the FBI for analysis. A retired agent has suggested that the blood pattern found on Nancy’s front porch indicates the possibility of a single abductor.

Nancy was last seen after being driven home from dinner at her daughter Annie’s house, arriving just before 10 p.m. on the night of her disappearance. Security footage reveals that her doorbell camera disconnected around 1:47 a.m. the following morning, but not before capturing a masked, armed individual at her front door. Additional footage from her home security system detected movement outside at 2:12 a.m., although investigators were unable to retrieve any video from that moment. Alarmingly, at 2:28 a.m., her pacemaker app lost connection with her phone.

After weeks of investigation, the FBI finally received a hair sample from the crime scene, which had been sent to a forensics lab in Florida. Experts have indicated that further testing could take considerable time, potentially weeks or even months.

“The Pima County Sheriff’s Department continues to work closely with the FBI as investigators follow up on leads, review information, and pursue the facts surrounding this case,” the spokesperson stated.

Police were alerted to Nancy’s disappearance on February 1 when family members reported her missing. Upon arrival, they discovered her back door propped open and a trail of blood near the entrance. The identity of the masked intruder captured on the doorbell camera remains unknown. Authorities noted that the suspect was seen carrying an Ozark Trail brand hiking backpack and was dressed in long sleeves, gloves, and a holstered pistol.

Having just celebrated her 84th birthday on January 27, Nancy’s case has drawn significant attention, with a combined reward exceeding $1.2 million for information leading to her whereabouts.

As the investigation continues, the community remains hopeful for answers. What will the next chapter reveal in this ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie?
