EUROVISION hosts Angela Scanlon and Rylan Clark were forced to apologise to viewers for “bad language” after a blunder during the first live semi-final.

The Eurovision Song Contest kicked off on Tuesday night, with Angela, 42, and Rylan, 37, as the UK commentators.

It was after Poland’s act Alicja took to the stage in Vienna to perform her entry Pray that Angela was quick to apologise to fans at home.

She said: “Apologies to everyone at home if you caught a little bad language. It’s live TV, isn’t it?”

Rylan joked: “What did I say?” To which Angela replied: “Not from you this time… makes a change.”

Attempting to explain what had happened, she added: “Live telly from the Austrian broadcast…they get a little excited.”

But viewers at home were still confused about what had actually happened, taking to social media to question the move from Angela and Rylan.

One wrote: “What ‘bad language’ was used?”

And another asked: “Did she swear?”

Presenter Angela had been in the running to be one of the stars set to replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman on Strictly Come Dancing.

But this week The Sun revealed Emma Willis had landed the job and, after the news, Angela took to social media to share a series of cryptic posts about “spiraling” and “normalising the joy of missing out”.

Last week, Strictly fans were convinced that Angela had given away she was the show’s new host as she made a cryptic comment on a post about the judging line up.

Taking to Reddit, a fan posted a screenshot of Zoe Ball writing: “Boom. Boom” and Angela Scanlon commenting: “What a crew.”

Strictly judge Motsi Mabuse replied to both of their comments with a string of love hearts.
