Joseph, 31, was arrested in March and charged in Florida with lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12 and lewd and lascivious behavior involving a minor, according to authorities. Prosecutors allege the incidents involved a then-9-year-old girl during a 2020 family vacation in Panama City Beach.

Meanwhile, Joseph’s wife Kendra Duggar was separately arrested in Arkansas days later. Both Joseph and Kendra are facing additional charges tied to alleged child endangerment and false imprisonment involving minors.

New details behind Kendra Duggar's arrest reportedly emerge

After largely staying quiet publicly, Jinger addressed the situation during an Instagram “Ask Me Anything” session on April 29 after a fan asked whether she was okay.

“Thanks for asking,” Jinger wrote alongside a photo of a cross. “It’s been a heavy season that reopened old wounds.”

She admitted that discussing the situation publicly has been emotionally difficult, saying she wanted to address it on her podcast but struggled with the weight of everything happening behind the scenes.

Jinger explained that she has been leaning heavily on her local community, spending more time offline, focusing on her husband Jeremy Vuolo and their children, and relying on faith to help her move forward.

The comments come weeks after Jinger and Jeremy released a special episode of their podcast Jinger & Jeremy reacting to Joseph’s arrest. During that emotional conversation, Jinger said she “did not think my heart could break like it has this week.”

She also referenced the Duggar family’s painful history involving her older brother Josh Duggar, who was convicted in 2021 on federal child sexual abuse material charges and is currently serving a lengthy prison sentence in Texas.

Years earlier, Josh also admitted to molesting several girls as a teenager, including sisters Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa Seewald.

“You can’t be prepared for news like this,” Jinger said on the podcast, explaining that the latest allegations reopened trauma the family had already endured once before.

Following Joseph and Kendra’s arrests, several Duggar family members — including Jana Duggar, Jill, Jessa, and Joy-Anna Forsyth — have publicly reacted to the unfolding scandal.

Joseph and Kendra have both pleaded not guilty to the Arkansas charges. Kendra’s no-contact order was later dissolved, allowing her to reunite with the couple’s four children.

The pair are expected back in court in Arkansas later this year as the cases continue developing.
